There is a lot of settings, the catching part is interesting. The batting part is really hard, i think because the game is getting the position of the controller each frames, but doesn't smooth it over, meaning that between every time they pull the tracking position, the controller doesn't exist, so if you swing really hard, you will have only 1 or 2 positions of your controller that will be close to the path of the ball. It's like the bat is teleporting from known position to known position. it's made clear when you see the ghost of your bat..... Right handed glove on the left hand. They should call this game "800 strikes" because that's what it's gonna feel like at first. The pitching speeds seem real and there's a variety of pitches. Plenty of settings to dial it down though. I think this is my new go to baseball game because the learning curve and difficulty seems learnable and makes me want to play it again.I have to say it might even be worth it just for the catcher mode. Sitting behing the plate with 90mph fastballs coming at you is actually pretty scary in VR. Very fun though! Too bad there's no "full" baseball game mode. Where you choose which position you want to play. That woul make it worth the high pricetag. As it stands probably more like a $11-12 tops. Seems like all the pieces are there. Running could easily be done automatcally. This would be a great game to flesh out into a full baseball game.works on Windows MR btw I'm playing it on a Lenovo.. My primarly issue is simply that this game caused me a number of crashes, including instances were it appears that SteamVR as a whole wouldn't even track my headset. That alone warrented my refund after just a half hour with the game in my library.Even once I got the game to work, it was still rather dissapointing, but let me start with the one, genuine "postive" that I can give the game: the graphics in this game, including the stadium, the lighting, the crowd, etc. are all spectacular to behold. More than any other batting simulator that I've played or seen on the store, this looks the most like a real MLB stadium (it's clearly based off of Yankee Stadium, after all). Unfortunately, but that feeling of awe really doesn't last long once you start playing the game. There really isn't a lot of control over what pitches come your way. While the pitch selection is fine (it has all the basics pitches [fastball, curveball, slider, changeup] and even a few specialty ones [forkball, splitter], the problem is that there are almost so options regarding the speed of the pitches. The standard "fastball" for instance has 4 speeds, if I remember correctly, to choose from. In my opinion, 2 were way too slow, and 2 were way too fast. There were no imbetweens. The only "handicaps" that you can choose to aid yourself with is a bigger ball to hit, and a bigger bat to swing with. That's it. Both of those "enhancements" are locked to a certain size, and there's no "variable" adjustments that you can make. It's either "normal" or "bigger" for each of them.If and when you manage to make contact with a pitch, you'll find that this game "juices" the ball to a ridiculous degree. It was not uncommon for me to hit the baseballs in excess of 900-1000 ft., and I could just bunt the ball clear out of the infield. While that's kind of comically awesome for a bit, I would have imagined and wished for a more realistic sense of power\/distance based on my real swings, particularly because this game literally puts you inside of a Major League stadium with Major League dimentions. There is no option to adjust this. Finally, I was excited about having a "catching" mode, which is unique to some of the other VR baseball games on the store, but unfortunately that wasn't anything special either. It's a mode where they throw you about 7 pitches in a sequence, and just score you on how many you catch. It's not "endless" practice like I'd imagined and hoped for. Also, this mode is broken by there not being any variety between pitches. All of the sliders will hit the same spot. Same with fastballs, curveballs, and every other pitch. After playing just two rounds, I was able to just leave my glove in the spot where I knew the ball would land, based on knowing the pitch that was coming. After trying out this one and a handful of other, similar batting sims on the store, I would not recommend VR DREAM MATCH BASEBALL to anyone. Besides the beautiful stadium to stand in, there is nothing about this game that is an improvement over what you can get with other games. If this game were free or less than about $3.00, then I'd say to go ahead and try it out. For $20, you should be getting what is at least somewhat of a premium product, and this game is simply not even close to being at that level.
